FWIW, we use Java Web Start and have dropped all other distribution methods.

Under on Mac OS X, there is a bug where the JWS app icon doesn't appear in the Finder. The icon's in there - and if you duplicate the "desktop app" it appears as expected - seems to be some sort of timing bug between JWS and Finder.

But even given that bug, it still beats the other methods for us. The automatic handling of updates is a big plus for us.
