I do know, but I can't tell you, because Java 6 previews are under NDA.

You should know this if you have one of them.

If you don't know this, then maybe you didn't read the release notes, or
maybe you got your preview from some place other than ADC.

If you don't read the release notes yourself, quoting them to you in a
public forum violates the NDA.

So please, just read the release notes.

If you can't find them in the preview download, you can log onto ADC and
read them online.

First off, I will apologize for snapping at you. A couple people have come to bat for you and say you are a good and helpful guy. It is a pet peeve of mine for people to respond to request for help with RTFM just so they can look superior by making someone else look inferior. Apparently that is not the case with you, and I apologize for jumping to that conclusion.

Second, I did search for documents telling me where I would find the information I was looking for. But Apple does not include README, LICENSE, COPYRIGHT, CHANGES, etc files in the normal location ($JAVA_HOME/jre). I am a Java Developer not a Mac/OSX/Apple developer, so if the information is not found where I normally find such information, I do the next logical thing, poke around on http:// developer.apple.com/java/. Not being readily available there, I did the next logical thing, which was ask the list (being the purpose of the list, correct?). Release Notes (CHANGES), LICENSE, and other files should be kept with the product. But that is not your problem, it is Apple's. So I did RTFM, which I always do (but you have no way of knowing that) and came to a dead end.

Third, I went back and read the PLCA (which is what I suspect you meant when you said NDA), and INAL, but I do not see where asking for, and subsequently getting information on where to submit bugs was in violation of the PLCA. If I had told you what the bug was, I might have been in violation. But getting information on something "that Apple makes generally available to the public" via an "Apple-approved feedback channel" is clearly not in violation of the PLCA. (So don't feel bad Nicolae, you did not violate the PLCA/NDA).

I can appreciate your diligence in keeping with the agreement, which most people don't even read, but I think you might be being a little overly cautious.

Thanks,
Mike
