Re: Aqua LAF key for gradient border

Hi Emanuel,

Doubtfully. Much of the OS X capabilities simply do not fit with Swing's cross-platform nature, one of them being the "multiple ways to draw the same thing" idea that we see often on the Mac.

I think it breaks down to two choices for anyone trying to get OS X specific stuff in Swing:

1. Use JNI (might not work in your case)
2. Implement it yourself in pure Java (should work, to be honest I am not sure exactly which border you are referring to)

I am willing to help you our with the number 2, if you have no experience with using Java2D. On the other hand, it is not that difficult, just see what you want to achieve and start goggling, there is a zillion articles online on *every* aspect of Java, so you are sure to find something suitable.

I've used this approach a number of times to get a more Apple-like appearance for our Swing app.

Best regards,
Florijan

Hi,

Is there any existing key I can use in a call to UIManager.getBorder (key)
to get the standard Mac OS X border for focused components that uses a
gradation of colors ?

Thank you
