Here's an irony to appreciate: on Day One, Android's SDK supports Mac-based (and Linux-based) development better than Java ME's does. The ME WTK has always been Windows-only, and they're just now trying to add Linux and Solaris support (with no apparent plans to support Mac). Granted, some people have been able to do some ME development on Mac (particularly thanks to the MPowerPlayer), but having tried myself to work with MHP sample code and Xlet emulators on the Mac, and from reading others' experiences, it seems like ME development on the Mac can be measured on a scale of impractical to impossible, depending on your needs. I think it's fair to say that when Android supports the big three (Lin/Win/Mac) at its premiere, and the ME WTK is still officially Windows-only after nearly a decade, that's really saying something about relative commitment levels and the validity of WORA. --Chris On Tue, 13 Nov 2007 07:08:50 +0000, Rob Dickens wrote: I'm referring of course to the availability of a certain new mobile phone-related SDK for Mac OS X.
