If you mean Apple's "Release 6", noted here:
<http://lists.apple.com/archives/java-dev/2007/Nov/msg00316.html>
and downloaded from ADC, the first thing to do is carefully read the
product name:
Java for Mac OS X 10.4, Release 6 Developer Preview 1
Note the qualifier, "for Mac OS X 10.4". It's crucial.
The release notes (also available from ADC) also say that this product
updates Java on 10.4 to versions that match the Java versions already
distributed on 10.5 Leopard. So the short answer about what to do on 10.5
Leopard is "Nothing" - the update isn't for Leopard.
If there is some ambiguity in the docs about the use of the phrase "10.4.10
or later", please file a bug-report for clarification that "or later"
should NOT include any version of 10.5 Leopard.
If you mean something else by "Java Release 6", please explain exactly what
you're referring to and where you got it. I can think of at least two
other possible interpretations, neither of which are covered by the above.
