Yep, and yep. The R3 release falls back to .jnilib if the .dylib is not found. I've just posted the new release, with release notes:

I've tried R3 - the -Xdock: stuff is actually solved, now to start NetBeans you don't need any longer to patch the launcher shell (only the config file needs to set the GTW look and feel).

But JOGL doesn't find its native library yet. Did somebody have more luck with native libraries (e.g. Quaqua, etc...)?
