X11 appears in the Dock at startup and shows as "Open at Login".
I'm not remembering what I might of done to arrange that. X11 does
prompt to confirm Quit on shutdown which is a little bit of a
nuisance.
In case anyone else is annoyed at that X11 dialog, there's a
setting you can tweak to eliminate it.
In a command shell, do the following:
% defaults write com.apple.x11 no_quit_alert true
I couldn't get my machines to schedule a clean shutdown until I set
it.
Thanks Timothy,
although I just did a man on 'defaults' and it looks like that might
not work once the application is running and I am launching X11 at
login. But I haven't tried it yet, so maybe, otherwise I'll try to
track down where the application itself has that set and change it
there.
