I'm not sure what you mean by "GPL compatible". In any case, I
don't think
the Artistic License is incompatible with the GPL. If you think the
two
license are incompatible, please explain what that incompatibility is.
My understanding is that the current MRJAdapter is licensed under the
Artistic License v. 1.0, and the FSF says the following about it:
Artistic License 1.0
We cannot say that this is a free software license because it is too
vague; some passages are too clever for their own good, and their
meaning is not clear. We urge you to avoid using it, except as part
of the disjunctive license of Perl.
Hence, I would not use libraries licensed under the Artistic License
in a GPLed software.
Besides, the software started using MRJAdapter when it was at version
1.0.8 and under the LGPL license. And there are no technical reasons
to upgrade to MRJAdapter 1.1 if that means having to change of
distribution license.
package com.apple.mrj.macos.libraries does not exist
package com.apple.mrj.jdirect does not exist
Read MRJ Adapter's build.xml.
Then use the jar-files under the Stubs sub-dir.
Thank you for the hint.
