Thanks for the info. I'm guessing this means no 1.6, but we won't know that till we get the results of the ls -l.

Before starting complaining (I've prepared the blog already, just need to copy and paste), let's wait for a couple of days. I was pointed out that even 10.4 didn't deliver Java 5 by default, it was available as a separate download. So, maybe in the weekend we will see Java 6 in the download area.
