Has anyone else seen an exception like the following when using
Leopard and Safari to load a signed applet?
The exception results in a dialog stating "Certificate Not
Verified Code will be treated as unsigned". I have cleared
caches, etc.
Yes, I just logged it with Apple in fact. It only happens with
expired certificates for me, though it might also happen with
untrusted certificates - not sure.
The certificate used to signed the applet is good until 2009.
Anyway by locating the certificate in the login keychain for the
problematic account and setting it to always trust that certificate
(instead of system default) avoids the exception. The applet is able
to become trusted and do what it needs to do.
Likely by always trusting the certificate some problematic pathway is
avoided... now to understand what about this account is at fault.
