Re: looking for laptop to do java development

I am using a MacBook Pro with VMWare Fusion with an  Ubuntu Guest. It is working alright as long as you don't have any other "heavy" application running. I would recommend a memory upgrade 2GB is a little short when you are using Photoshop and VMWare.
I use VMWare mostly for testing and I often need some extra app running at the same time and it runs alright as long as you have enough memory.

Subject: looking for laptop to do java development

I undecisive between choosing just simple dell xps or get a macbook pro , install vmware fusion and have a guest ubuntu OS on it.  The reason i need a loptop is just purely for java development. I wonder anyone of u using leopard and using using vmware fusion with guest ubuntu OS for java development? I worry about the stability of the operating system by running vmware all the time and wonder does that likely to crash likely?  i'm already fed up with vista frequent, program crashing and "prompting finfing solutions"...    looking forward from guru feedback... should i just get a dell or macbook pro?
