In these days I'm running some comparative benchmarks and I've got a
bunch of questions related to Java performance on Mac OS X
I'm not seeing the original message on this and am somewhat curious.
I don't see benchmark numbers but again benchmark numbers don't tell
what might actually be slow where it's slower. Have you done any
profiling?
I'm trying :-) as there's a bug in the NetBeans profiler that prevents
me from running it. In the next days I'll try to work around that.
Indeed a detailed profiling is of course a necessary thing, the
meaning of my post was to understand at first if there are "macro"
things, such as different optimizations profiles in the VM, etc...
I'll keep you posted.
In the meantime, thanks to Greg and others for the bunch of insightful
suggestions.
