I've already been historically annoyed about Apple requiring OS
upgrades in order to get Java updates.  Those atleast could be fixed
by spending a minimal amount of money to upgrade the OS.  This,
however, requires spending ~$2000 to update your entire damn machine.
That's nuts.

Then sell your old machine after updating. Not selling it seems nuts to me.


The new prices of the Mac Mini Core 2 Duo are interesting today, but this is not the point (apart from the fact that I don't want to give any money to Apple given its profound disregard for Java developers). The point is that I don't see feasible to ask to customers to upgrade a less-than-two-years-old machine just to run Java, and maybe being addressed back about Java being a sucker.
