The issue is
about requiring others to upgrade -- the people that use the product.
Users should not be required to purchase a new computer in order to
continue using a product.
So it sounds like you have users happily using your product on OS X
(presumably under Java 5, since that's all that was available until
yesterday).
Apple releases Java 6 - which doesn't even change the default VM - and
now you say your users are required to purchase a new computer to
continue using your product?
This makes no sense.
