I seem to remember that MacOSX has different implementations of its
core frameworks for 32-bit and 64-bit installations, and that the two
don't play together.
I also think I saw someone point out that the two aren't even
equivalent - some things work on the 32-bit frameworks that won't on
the 64-bit (and viceversa?).
And I think that Java6 on MacOSX is more tightly integrated with the
OS's core frameworks than Java 6 on Windows/Linux...
If all this is true, it's not surprising that Java6 on 64-bit and
Java6 on 32-bit MacOSX are not really similar enough to make one a
given, given the other ...
