You will if I understand correctly not have a 1.4 JRE on a Leopard
machine.
That's incorrect. There is a 1.4 JRE on Leopard, and it's present
by default.
There is not a 1.3 JRE, however. Its exists in JavaVM.framework/
Versions,
but that dir is mostly empty.
Since I haven't seen anything showing 1.3 yet then this is most
likely not it.
The error is very similar to what I get if I test a simple local host
jnlp of mine I've played with localhost, testing it using a JRE I
don't have
The application has requested a version of the JRE (version 1.2) that
currently is not locally installed
A little odd that it's very similar but not quite identical to the
stated error?
"#### Java Web Start Error:
#### The application has requested a version of the JRE (version 1.4
+) that currently is not locally installed. Java Web Start is unable
to automatically download and install the requested version. This JRE
must be installed manually."
The Java Web Start - System Configuration dialog that I see doesn't
include the first line or the #### characters?
Where is the OP seeing these? Does he not see the System
Configuration dialog? Does he actually have something strange running
in place of the builtin JWS?
