I'm trying to construct a regular expression with this:
regex = regex.replaceAll( var, "\\1" );
But it puts only 1 in place of var in the string, not \1. I can't
understand what I'm doing wrong. The preceding line:
regex = regex.replaceFirst( var, "([abc])" );
works just fine.
