Uninstalling, is also, not possible without a full OS reinstall.
To clarify, "full OS reinstall" doesn't necessarily mean wiping out
all your user accounts and system configuration. Since 10.2, the OS
provides an "Archive and Install" option that will replace only the
OS components, preserving all user accounts and system settings.
After an "Archive and Install", one would still have to apply Combo
Updaters and individual product updaters (e.g. Java, QuickTime,
iTunes) to achieve the original revision level.

Personally, I'd do a full backup before starting an Archive and
Install, but some people prefer working without a safety net.
