Re: Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 4 and 10.4 Release 9

Thanks, Mike, that's what I need to know to update our build scripts.  I got it working on my local system by changing the entry in my classpath from /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.5.0/Home/lib/javaws.jar to /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home/lib/javaws.jar; I'll change it to /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Resources/Deploy.bundle/Contents/Home/lib/javaws.jar.

Hmm...where did the 1.5 version of javaws.jar go?

Use /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Resources/Deploy.bundle/Contents/Home/lib/javaws.jar.

Java Web Start in Update 4 now relies on the latest (Java SE 6) version of launcher/deployment classes which are designed to launch in all versions of Java, back to 1.4. This eliminated the discrepancy in Web Start behavior between machines that can run Java SE 6 and those that can't.

The Deploy.bundle is the one place where all deployment-related jars should be linked from, since those are the only copies that will be kept up to date.

Hope this helps explain what you are seeing on disk,
