Plugin2 support was not completed in time for release, so the UI in
Java Preferences to enable it was removed. The current implementation
is still present, but only for developer testing. To enable this, the
Java plugin in /Library/Internet Plug-Ins was replaced with a symlink
(and among other reasons, why you should quit all your browsers, and
anything that loads WebKit before installing). If you wish to tinker
with that symlink, go ahead, but assume it will be overwritten by
future Java Software Updates.
