The allowable values are i386, ppc and ppc64. Multiple options work, and direct the compiler to produce ``universal'' binaries including object code for each architecture specified with -arch. This option only works if assembler and libraries are available for each architecture specified. (APPLE ONLY) (emphasis added) Do you know who to contact about getting the man files updated? It might also make sense to revise gcc to produce x86_64 code by default on 64 bit machines. Anyway, I've got it all sorted out now. It works on my machine, and I know how to make it work for any other machine I may need. So thanks for your help. |
