Incorporating a small objective C widget into a java app

I am trying to incorporate a small objective C widget into my OSX java app. This widget would only take a few lines of objective-c to work but I am having trouble with both Rococoa and JNI. In setting up Rococoa I am having trouble because the direction instruct me to add their bin directory to the java.library.path environmental variable but I cannot find any info on how to do this. With JNI I am having even more trouble because almost every link to info about how to get started with JNI seems to be a broken link. Is JNI totally dead and depreciated or is there a good link somewhere? Can anyone help me out with some advice on how to set up one of these wrappers or is there something better that I have not yet found? _______________________________________________
