I am looking for information on what functions or APIs I *MUST NOT*
call
in a Java utility so that the Apple JVM does not show the Java app
icon
in the dock and the menu bar.
If I remember right doing anything with Font's would trigger UI
application stuff? I don't remember if this was considered a bug or not.
You could try stripping code out until you narrow down what triggers
the UI related.
