What happened to "CurrentJDK" in Lion?

It used to be that you could have OSX use the current default JDK by setting:

JAVA_JVM_VERSION=CurrentJDK

However, in Lion, this throws a warning:

JavaVM: requested Java version (CurrentJDK) not available. Using Java at "/System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents/Home" instead.

It doesn't cause problems, but it is annoying. Couldn't it just use that without throwing a warning like it used to?
