SlashGear is running a story on this update entitled “Apple makes second attempt at Trojan Java block” (http://www.slashgear.com/apple-makes-second-attempt-at-trojan-java-block-06221830/). This story also includes a “suggestion” that users disable Java on their computers.
Since many users ask members of this listserv what they should do, it would be good to have more detailed information about whether this security issue is safely behind us. In the absence of such information, many users will assume the worst about Apple, Java, and the software written by those of us on this listserv.
