I'm currently working on adding skeletal models to my game, and I found this resource to be most helpful: http://www.gamedev.net/reference/articles/article417.asp Especially the section on hierarchical transformations, which is what you want to be doing in this case._______________________________________________
Unless, of course, you want to use Quaternions to do your transformations and rotations, in which case I can't help, because I know nothing of how they work. :)
Also, I've written a program that converts .smd files (as can be exported from 3dsm and Maya with Half-Life's SMD exporter) into my model format, which makes things a whole lot simpler in the long run. :)
If you (or anyone else) needs any help with any part of developing a skeletal model format, I'd be glad to be of assistance, if I can.
Good luck,
Dylan Barrie

Any resources for making skeletal models? Like models, that have skeletons in them, and that is what mutates their form?
