Another solution which is used in the game I am porting as well as
the OGRE rendering engine is to use SDL (libsdl.org). That does
window and full screen mode and has an event handling system in it.
And it is cross platform.
And it fails in full-screen mode if you have 2 video cards.
How does it fail?
Main screen remains black. (We had other full-screen issues on
Windows, but didn't test it with two cards.)
I have tried the full screen OGRE demos and also the game I am porting
on dual monitor machines (10.3.something) and I have seen no such
problems. Perhaps there is a newer version of SDL than you were using.
