Switch to an orthographic projection and use the various blend modes or textures to achieve the results you are looking for. You could also use DrawPixels, though drawing a polygon with a texture is more flexible.

Since I have no idea what effect you are looking for I am completely guessing in the the dark.

What exactly do you call "orthographic" pixel transfer? Is it hardware
accelerated?
