Researching Polygon Mesh generation



Hi Folks,

I know this isn't directly pertaining to OpenGL since I'm needing to make my
own poly mesh algorithms, but since I'm fairly new at this I'm trying to shake every
available 'tree' to see what falls out.

Does anyone have a suggestion on where to look for algorithms, etc. on using extrusion
or other types of polygon mesh generation techniques? I'm looking for the implicit methods,
since I realize one option is to explicitly state each vertex, edge, etc, of the mesh,
but I'd rather not go down that route.

Also if anyone knows of OpenGL calls that assist in the creation of complex poly mesh objects,
that would be helpful as well!
