Re: Problem remotely displaying OpenGL app from a Sun machine

It's my understanding that Sun has some non standard GLX commands in there GLX protocol.

That is where "X Error of failed request: GLXUnsupportedPrivateRequest" is coming from. I'm not sure if there is a way to get the Sun system to suppress these.

I am developing an X application which runs on a Sun server and remotely displays on a Mac using apple's XFree86. Everything worked fine until a 3d component was added (using VTK). Everything works great on a Sun desktop (local or remote) but the application will crash when it attempts to open the 3d window on an OSX desktop.

Here is the message it fails with:

X Error of failed request: GLXUnsupportedPrivateRequest
Major opcode of failed request: 152 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 17 (X_GLXVendorPrivateWithReply)
Serial number of failed request: 900
Current serial number in output stream: 900

Any help with this problem will be greatly appreciated!
