GLUT speed issues

Hello,

I am new to OpenGL and GLUT and successfully compiled a small GLUT example from http://www.cosc.brocku.ca/Offerings/3P98/course/MSVC/msvcnetglut.html on my Power Mac G5. However, it runs extremely fast compared to the exact same code that runs on my PC (Windows XP).

Is there a specific reason as to why this is happening? It also happens on my iBook G4. Hardware acceleration??
