Fullscreen content ALWAYS freezes PowerMac G5 1.8 SP Late 2004 when used with ATI 9600XT There's a huge bug in Tiger that appears only with a particular type of hardware : the powermac G5 1.8 single processor introduced in october 2004 (with a 600 Mhz Frontside bus) combined with the Apple OEM ATI Radeon 9600 XT with card. With such a hardware, playing a Quicktime movie in fullscreen, viewing a slideshow (in iPhoto, Preview, Mail) fullscreen ALWAYS freezes the computer. Viewing a Quicktime sequence embbeded in Safari always freezes the computer. Playing iTunes sreensaver in fullscreen always freezes the computer. On this paticular hardware, this bug is highly and easily reproductible.
