GMA X3100

GL info here, as Aras says:
http://homepage.mac.com/arekkusu/bugs/GLInfo.html

I was shocked and surprised to see this list. I thought the GMA X3100
was supposed to be the successor to the GMA 950, but by the chart it's
*missing* functionality the GMA 950 has. I've filed radars for:

EXT_packed_depth_stencil (5575770)

This is a pretty critical one, without it EXT_framebuffer_object is
all but useless, and the GMA X3100 is the only "modern" GPU Apple
ships that doesn't have support.

EXT_blend_equation_separate and EXT_blend_func_separate (5575773)

Not so critical for games, perhaps, but for anything where you care
about using the framebuffer as a texture or as an accumulator, they
can be pretty important.

ARB_fragment_program_shadow, ATI_texture_env_combine3,
EXT_blend_color, EXT_blend_minmax, EXT_blend_subtract (5575825)

Not of great personal importance to me, but given their ubiquity it's
likely that there are people relying on these who will be very
displeased to discover that their code doesn't work on a large
proportion of new Macs.

In addition, the GMA X3100 is supposed to be a DX10 part, but I don't
see the obvious DX10 features on the list. I've filed radars for:

geometry shading (5575821)

Not of great personal interest to me, but this should be a feature we
can rely on having present on capable hardware.

floating point textures and framebuffers (5575818)

This is the really critical one. This was always the biggest strike
against the GMA 950 in my book, and to have it missing from the X3100
where it could be supported is like a smack in the face with a wet
kipper.

What's going on here? Not to sound alarmist, but things on the Apple
OpenGL front were looking really good, with new features and quality
drivers, until we hit the GeForce 8600M's instability, then the Radeon
HD 2600's lockups, and now the travesty of a driver for the GMA X3100
with a pre-beta feature list. It doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
