- why is CAOpenGLLayer passing me a context with no depth buffer?
because it would be wasteful to give you one if you didn't need it.
Override - copyCGLPixelFormatForDisplayMask: in your CAOpenGLLayer to
return a pixel format that satisfies your requirements.
