Leopard SM4.0 support ATI Radeon HD vs GeForce 8600M

Dario, thanks for the 8600M rendering info follow-up!

With the two current shipping "next-gen" graphics cards from Ati HD in the iMac and the NV 8600M in the MBP, is there differences in the functionality between the exposed SM4.0/GL2 functionality in these two cards?

8600M has support for,
 GL_EXT_geometry_shader4
 GL_EXT_gpu_shader4
 GL_EXT_transform_feedback

and vertex texture fetch
 GL_NV_vertex_program3

What about Apple's driver support for ATI Radeon HD cards??? Anyone with a HD iMac want to post the supported GL extension list?

My hope is that Apple is providing the same SM4.0 support (or at least SM3.0 vertex texture fetch support) for both the HD and GeForce 8 cards.

Sure would demonstrate the advantage of Apple providing their own graphics drivers! From what I have gathered from other forums, ATI's GL drivers (windows/linux) for the Radeon HD cards have NO support for SM4.0 features and also are still missing any support for vertex texture fetch (SM3.0 feature).

Can anyone shead any light on this issue?

Thanks in advance,

_
