RE: RE: MM feature request

Here's how I was told to do it... I'm not sure what the difference is
between these steps and merely going into Sharing and checking the "allow
remote logins" box....

Enter Terminal, then type:
pico /etc/hostconfig

locate and edit the line:
SSHSERVER=-YES-
(i have also been setting QT Streaming Server to NO)

Type Control-X to save. Type "Y" for yes and then press return.

Then enable SSH2 by creating a DSA host key. Enter the command:
ssh-keygen -d

and wait a long while. It will say "Generating dsa key pair..."

When it asks for a filename, enter:
/etc/ssh_host_dsa_key

You may be asked to overwrite... you should enter Yes and then enter a
passphrase if you want

Start the SSH server and automatically create SSH keys by typing:
/System/Library/StartupItems/SSH/SSH

If you want to be really cool you can type:
pico /etc/motd

and change the SSH greeting

so, after a reboot you can log in from an SSH client and get in and do a
bunch of stuff... like NetInfo command lines... MacSSH is pretty cool for
non-OSX machines, but I think certain telnet apps have it available.
