I9ve recently developed a problem that I9ve not seen before.

For the past three days, each day I9ve had my data server crash - it holds
only data folder for student preferences and documents - the login is
handled by a different machine.

When I run Norton Utilities on the server I have found each time a user that
has files with major errors - usually the internet preferences but generally
other preference files as well. The errors are such that the resource fork
is damaged.

After deleting these files, everything seems to work again fine - until the
next time.

After the second crash when similar files were found, I rebooted and
attempted to drag those items to the trash while AppleshareIP was running -
even clicking on them with the mouse caused the server to lock up.

I rebooted off of Norton and then was able to trash the files.

Any idea what is happening here?
