Eudora 5.1 cannot see folder?

This one's a new one for me. One of my guinea pig teachers called me up today and said he got this weird error when accessing his email. He would launch Eudora Light 5.1 and after the splash screen an error message would pop up saying Eudora could not find or make a Eudora folder and would quit. Since his email was working fine yesterday this is kind of weird. I re shot the entire computer with netoctopus and the same problem pops up. Now, if I drag the Eudora folder out of his documents folder onto the hard drive it launches no problem. If I trash the one on the hard drive, leaving only the one on the documents folder it cannot find it again.

I hope there's not something seriously wrong with my server......
