Library Users

I too had a bad experience when first using MM. Under At Ease we used a
generic login of students and they could use that to access the card
catalog, type or whatever. I had all sorts of grief from this when we
switched to MM. It does not like several people logging in under one
generic login.

The solution is to use the guest login. Be sure to allow guest access to
your Library file. Then under Appleshare give them read only rights.
This solved our problem.

When students need to use a Word Processor and save their work, they
need to login under their name and use their student ID number as the
password. They can also access the library program from this login. Then
if they have turned in an AUP (Acceptable Use Policy) we allow them a
seperate user called Internet user.
This seems to work for us.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
the rains fall soft upon your fields and
and until we meet again...
may God hold you in the palm of His Hand.
... an Irish Blessing
