Re: Re: Suggestions for Kindergarten

In our lab and classrooms, each computer has a number. I put large numbers on
those white apples that came with the iMacs on the computers in the lab and in
the PreK and Kinder rooms. I then created a workgroup for these students called
Kinder. The users are k1, k2, etc. The student looks at the side of the computer
to get the number, types in k and the number and pushes the log in button (or
enter twice), with no password. Since Kindergarten students hardly ever need to
save their work, this has worked for us. By first grade, students know how to
type their names. At the beginning of first grade, some teachers write the
student's name on a popscicle stick (lastname firstname) and their password
(initials) on the back. This has worked well for us.
