Preferences and MM

Current MM issues I am trying to resolve:

1. Printing
Unstable printing, reappearing printer icons on desktop.
How can I delete the available printers in MM?
What are the minimum printer preferences that I need?(Print
spooler, printing Monitor.)

2. Preferences
I want to create a set of preferences that all users get when
they log in. Currently it seems that the forced preferences are
being copied but they are not invoking changes to the logged in
user.
I am equally confused about what preferences belong to what
applications. I have 100s of preferences being copied to the
server and also 100s of preferences on the local users system.
How come I am still seeing preferences that say that are At Ease
Documents? I trashed the Global Users Pref and it was rebuilt
with the OS identifying it as an At Ease Document. What is the
best way to manage so many of these preferences and contain them
so I know where they are all going? And which ones has MM
produced. I know about the ones in the multi-users folder but
there also are some in the preferences in the systems folder. I
still can't seem to get the cache.waf issue to work.

3. MM Database
How can I contact the vendors or the group of programmers that
coded MM. What tools did they use to create the program? Where
is the Entity Relationship Diagram or the blue print for the MM
database design? When corruption appears where does it appear?
What part of the DB is being corrupted? What are the data types
in the data base? What data is being stored in the *.idx type
files? What is the best most accurate way to test that the MM
database is corrupt? I have tried the recovery techniques on
the TIL and from John D. but to no avail. And they "Verify
users and Workgrupos" option does not seem to catch any of the
"real" bugs.

4.
I am in MM as a Global administrator. When I tried to log into
as a global administrator I get the following message:
"Your documents can't be accessed at this time(connection to the
server was broken). You may continue to login, but you will not
be able to save any documents to your documents folder. Do you
want to continue? YES/NO."

If I choose "NO" this message appears:
"MM has not been properly set up must have at least one user and
one workgroup. Please contact your systems administrator(Server
"MacServer's Computer). I am the sys admin so I contact
myself:)

I know this is long winded but these are my experiences with MM.
Students have been (barely) using this since I rolled it out in
Jan, 2000. John D. is the only consultant that gave enough
information makes MM at least float.

Hardware we are using:

B & W G3 server 256MB SDRAM/8.5 GB HD/ASIP 6.2/OS 8.6
All new imacs and DV imacs
MM 1.3 client
MM 1.2 admin
