I have some 5200/75LC clients running Mac OS 8.1 & Macintosh Manager 1.3 in
the panels environment. Some of these have dead CMOS batteries and
apparently the big signs on the computer that say "DON'T TURN OFF" might as
well be written in Sanskrit. The issue is that somehow all the Apple Menu
Items, a couple of key control panels and an extension are moved into the
Secured Items Folder in the System Folder. I tried moving them back in
manually but the TCP/IP & AppleTalk control panels are no longer functional.
What gives here and can I prevent it from happening in the future? If it's
not preventable, how can I fix it without having to add TCP/IP & AppleTalk
from a floppy?
