How to use a RAM disk to run Norton

Hello All,
Perhaps this info (below)will come in as handy for others as it has for
us. The newer model macs won't start up from earlier version Norton CD or
Diskwarrior CD.
Symantec gave this "work around" option of creating a RAM disk on their
web site. Alsoft says to order the newest CD. (but perhaps this
workaround would do for diskwarrior too?) Hope this is useful. Only part
of the text is below, for complete instructions follow link to their
(Symantec) web site.
regards from the (icy) coast of Maine

How to use a RAM disk to run Norton Disk Doctor or Speed Disk on the
newest Macintosh models
Situation:
You have late-model G4, G4MP, G4 Cube, or one of the newest iMacs, and you
cannot boot the computer using your Norton Utilities CD.
Solution:
The following solution is for routine maintenance, such as optimizing your
normal boot volume, and assumes that you will need only Norton Disk
Doctor, Speed Disk, and Norton Shared Lib in the RAM disk.

Product(s): Norton Utilities 5.0 - Mac, Norton Utilities 6.0 - Mac
Operating System(s): Mac - OS 9, Mac - OS 9.0.4
