Re: -5000 Errors

Thanks to everyone who responded to my plea of help. Sorry I didn't get back sooner, but I'm sure you know how it is...Absent teachers, other problems, too many of them...not enough time.

Here's what I did: Deleted every user's Preference folder. That cured all the -5000 errors, printing problems, etc. But now I'm back where I started, before the -5000 problem...not all of my managed preferences work properly.

When I first set up Mac Manager, I thought I followed the instructions on how to set up for Internet Explorer...Under System Access, I compiled a list of favorites, took the Explorer folder containing the History & Favorites, put it in Forced preferences, and ALMOST everyone got my favorites...everyone except those who had logged in at an OS 9 machine. So I thought I'd blast out my favorites to those students...but there doesn't seem to be a way to pick them out, so I figured blasting them out to everyone would work. It didn't.

I guess what I really need to do is study the Preference Model in my spare time to figure out how to get the OS 9 machines to pick up the forced preferences.

Anyway, thanks to all...I hope to get as many responces the next time I write in for help!
