AirPort information

Hi all,

I'd like to make an offer to this community. The offer is information,
guidance, help, etc. for anyone dealing with Apple's lovely AirPort
wireless networking. I will happily entertain any questions anyone may
have and provide whatever assistance or knowledge I have on the topic. My
experience lies in establishing a building-wide AirPort network using
about 30 base stations. This network currently serves about 50 PowerBook
and iBook clients as well as a number of PC laptops and the occasional
other ethernet device through an ethernet to wireless converter. I built
this network from the ground up and have experience with AirPort from
about a week after its release. I have worked with hardware from Apple
and Lucent including the Lucent WaveLAN Turbo 11 Silver PC cards and
Lucent WaveLAN EC ethernet to wireless converters. I have not dealt with
any of the other IEEE 802.11 device vendors but have some limited
knowledge of compatibility, etc. As a side note, I have also had to iron
out many details regarding implementation, management, maintenance,
logistics, and just about anything else to do with batches of laptop
computers used in a school. This includes many issues regarding both
Macintosh Manager and Network Assistant running over an AirPort network.
I hope to be working up a simple web site with AirPort information as
well as a simple discussion board for people to use as an AirPort
specific forum. Look for that information in the future. For now, toss my
