XServe OSX 10.1.5 System and server version.
Clients iMac OS 9.2.2 w/ MMLocalPrefs.
MM 2.1.1

I set up the XServe last week and the teachers started really using it on
Wednesday. I had many teachers who could login once and on the second
login it would freeze when MM got to loading Keychain. Throwing the
preferences file from their Library on the server would only fit it for
one or two logins. If the teachers goes to a different client it does not
freeze at Keychain.

I have a case with Apple Support but thought I would throw it out to the
list to see if anyone had ideas. It seem to fix with extensions changes so
I am going to do some extension troubleshooting to see if I can isolate
something after school.

I trashed my NetInfo database last night and it was back this morning. I
have a few other issues that I do not want to build on Sunday. Apple seems
to be as baffled as I am.

Any ideas would be appreciated. I need to move on to classes and
curriculum.

I don't have an Xserver, but we are running OSX Server 10.1.5. I had one kid whose machine froze because he'd created a keychain and then froze up the rest of the lab. I had to ask him not to use Keychain, after I deleted his keychain file. Without it, everything works the way it should. Fortunately for me, my teachers don't use Keychains either.

Do your teachers really have to have them?
