I think someone in Austin is leading you down the 'golden path' -
MMLocalPrefs only has you using the local Preference folder. If you
crash when doing that, then you are either forcing a bad pref, or the
local system has some bad pref in it. If this only happens on 10.1.5
servers, that is another issue.
