Computer Freeze and User Login

OS 10.1.5 server and MM2.1.1

I have users set so that they can only log into one computer at a time.
However, if their computer freezes and they move to another machine (or even
if they restart and try the same machine) it will give the message that they
are currently logged in. I can go in and change their user prefs in MM
2.1.1 so they can log in to more than one computer as a quick fix, but is
there another way to fix this?
