Steve,

I just went through a very similar problem myself...only I lost the login (MM)
server everywhere.

For me--it was a DNS issue. My MM login server wsa having a mid-life crisis
and could not "find" itself via a reverse-lookup to our local DNS server. I
created an entry for it on my local DNS server, and voila'---the logins
started popping up like popcorn at a County Fair.

Check your server logs. Whatever your problem is there will probably be some
clues for you in the logs.
