cache.waf

Up until now I have pretty much ignored postings on this list about cache.waf files, because we do not use internet explorer at all. But now I've just noticed that about 35 of our users (out of a total of about 150) have 10Mb cache.waf files in their preferences. Some have them in their preference folder, some have them in preferences:MS Internet Cache, some have one in each!
Where would these files be coming from if we don't use IE at all? We do use Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel.
Secondly, how do we stop these 10 Mb files from clogging up the server?

I'm running ASIP 6.3.3, MM 1.4.1, one G4 server, about 20 client machines all on different varieties of OS 9.
